Eleven months after its defeat in the Euro semi-finals against Spain, last July in Munich, the French team has a revenge against the European Champions 2024 in the semi-finals of the League of Nations, this time in Stuttgart, on Wednesday, June 5. The Final Four of the League of Nations was formed Sunday after suspense quarter -finals. La Roja also had to qualify for penalties against the Netherlands (3-3, 5 tab at 3), while Portugal of Cristiano Ronaldo was snatched in overtime against Denmark (5-2) in order to challenge the Mannschaft on June 4 in Munich (where the final will take place on Sunday 8).

Beaten 2-0 in Split, Kylian Mbappé and his teammates this time played the attack on the attack and knew how to “go up” the score, even if they only marked in the second period and could not make the difference during the extension. The tenure of Michael Olise, in number 10 behind his featured captain, was a great success. The left -hander of Bayern opened the scoring on a nice free kick on the return from the locker room (53rd). After a great opportunity missed by Mbappé (75th), olise came out of its box, right side, for a withdrawal center which allowed Ousmane Dembélé to bring the score to 2-0 and equalize to the cumulative (80th).

Maignan saves the French team

In overtime, “the Dèche” sent Randal Kolo Muani and Eduardo Camavonga to the field (as well as an authoritarian Manu Koné in the midfield but at the end of his forces over the game). Kylian Mbappé could have qualified his team before the penalties but fell twice on a Dominik Livakovic decidedly in great shape.

The Croats have kept good until the fateful session, but it is Mike Maignan who played the heroes. And even the Savior. The porter of AC Milan rejected the first peno of the Croats to put France in a position of strength but Jules Koundé and Théo Hernandez lacked the frame! Maignan rejected the 7th opposing attempt, by Josip Stanisic, before a shot to the goal of the qualifier signed Dayot Upamecano.
