The superb form of Kylian Mbappé will be decisive in Real Madrid's struggle for the title this season.

The French international scored a double during the 2-1 victory in La Liga in Villarreal this weekend, allowing the Carlo Ancelotti team to stay in the race for the title.

Mbappé will now start the French selection before a series of tight matches until the end of the season. In addition to their struggle for the Spanish title, the men of Ancelotti began the month of April with a semi-final return of the King's Cup against Real Sociedad, before facing Arsenal in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Mbappé now has 20 goals in La Liga this season, including 31 all competitions, and seeks to confirm its promise to finish the season in style. The former PSG star admitted to having been frustrated by his first months in Madrid, marked by some minor injuries, but he has taken over the hair of the beast since the beginning of 2025.

Kylian Mbappé in great shape

With his 31 goals, he rose to 4th place in the REAL Madrid players ranking that scored the most goals in their first season, in front of the Brazilian icon Ronaldo Nazario, author of 30 goals in 2002/03.

His next milestones are Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruud Van Nistelrooy, ex-aequo with 33 goals, respectively in 2009/10 and 2006/07.

The undisputed leader of the first season remains the Chilean legend Ivan Zamarano, author of 37 goals in 1992/93 after his arrival from Seville. Mbappé will be confident to break this 32 -year -old record in 2025. Despite the goals scored by all these exceptional attackers from the Real Madrid past, no title of the Champions League was won at the end of the season during the four years recorded. Only Ronaldo Nazario and Van Nistelrooy allowed Real Madrid to win the Liga that year, the first seasons of CR7 and Zamarano having seen Barcelona crowned Spanish champion.
