Parisian on different aspects of the selection. His relationship with Didier Deschamps has often been pointed out. Many rumors expressed disagreements between the captain of the French team and the coach going so far as to mention certain tensions between the two parties. Kylian Mbappé then wanted to put things in clear indicating that there have been some distensions but without gravity: “We have had success together and our relationship cannot end up in the trash for two, three disagreements which, in addition, are not serious at all.”
The player then indicates that if he had decided to break his ties with Didier Deschamps, he would not be in the France team today:“A break with the coach?” No ! If there was a break, I would never have answered his calls. Everyone knows me. If there is a break with someone, I do not maintain contact, I don't know how to pretend. That doesn't mean that in a relationship, there is never any disagreement. Even if I don't want it, we may still have it. Now I have my education, I have always had respect and recognition for the coach. ”
Mbappé evokes his status as a captain
If there is one thing that has been controversial since the announcement of Kylian Mbappé's return to the French team, it is his status as a captain, that Didier Deschamps decided to renew. RMC Sport Jerôme Rothen had, for example, indicated that Madrid did not deserve the armband. “” I am the only one we ask this question, who we ask if it is made for that. The armband, I have been given, I take it and try to assume it as best as possible. But I do not understand why, when I have been in the French team for eight years and that the captain has never been debated, it becomes a subject. Kylian Mbappé then finished by declaring that wearing the captain's armband was a pride for him: “Maybe some imagine it, but I have never seen the armband as a charge. On the contrary, it is more pride, additional responsibility than a charge. We are still talking about the brassard of the French team! Do not neglect what it is, what it represents. I will continue to wear it with pride and with the same desire to make this French team triumph ”.
