Real Madrid stands once again against Spanish football instances. After having estimated to be injured by arbitration in recent weeks, the Merengue reaps this time against the Liga calendar. Used by an intense battle against Atlético in the Champions League this Wednesday, the White House continues this Saturday against Villarreal, with only 66 hours of recovery. A situation deemed unacceptable by the Madrid club, which believes that it has been disadvantaged by the game programming. Faced with this problem, the club channel has announced a radical decision: the Madrid team will now require a minimum of 72 hours of rest between two games and will request the protection of FIFA to enforce this rule.

Real Madrid's dissatisfaction is not new. Management had already protested when the match schedule against Villarreal had been set, but anger has continued to grow as the meeting approached. Without training session, the players only benefited from 50 minutes of recovery on the lawn of Valdebebas. The club insists on the fact that it will no longer replay in such conditions, relying on the recommendations of FIFA, which, since March 2023, recommends a minimum of 72 hours of rest to preserve the health of the players.
