The action that would have changed everything? Wednesday, March 5, PSG received Liverpool at the Parc des Princes, on the sidelines of the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League. Parisians bowed 1-0 at home against Reds Rather shy. The meeting was marked by a controversy after a possible fault of Ibrahima Konaté on Bradley Barcola. A stroller in the back of the Parisian could have caused his expulsion in the 27th minute of play.

However, the referee decided otherwise. He chose not to severely sanction the gesture of the French defender, even after verification of the Var. No cardboard or free kick. This decision was challenged by many people, including Luis Campos. The PSG football advisor had even gave free rein to his anger in the corridors of the Parc des Princes towards the refereeing body at halftime.

Two different versions

For his part, Ibrahima Konaté did not flinch concerning this fact of play. “No, that's my opinion. There is a Var, there is everything you need. For me, no. Why should there be a fault? If there is a stroller, I should have taken red! There, it was really soft from me “he declared at the microphone of Canal +. But the player's position changed in a few days.

In his private circle, Ibrahima Konaté made a very different speech. Indeed, Le Parisien reveals in his edition of the day that the defender of Liverpool, in private, recognizes that his fault indeed deserves a red card. An observation that hurts.
