PSG also deprived of a very large check?

Nothing is lost yet for PSG. But the defeat conceded against Liverpool Wednesday evening at the Parc des Princes (0-1), in the round of 16 go to the Champions League, places the capital's club in a fairly delicate situation before the return match. To qualify, Luis Enrique players will indeed have no choice but to win in Anfield next Tuesday.

A victory of the red and blue by a goal of gap will take the two teams in overtime while a wider success will send the Parisians to the quarters. Not simple, therefore, especially since the Reds have lost once at home this season in the Premier League. It was September 14, against Nottingham Forest (0-1). Since then, they have only conceded three defeats, all outside.

A big shortfall for PSG?

In the event of elimination, Paris Saint-Germain can console itself with a nice check. But not as big as hoped. At the end of the league phase, and despite their complicated journey, the French champions had already raised 80.9 million euros in endowments. An amount to which were added the 11 million euros promised to the clubs participating in the eighth.

But if they do not go further in the competition, the Ile -de -France will make a cross on a beautiful envelope. The UEFA plans to reward the quarter-finalists up to 12.5 million euros and the semi-finalists of an additional 15 million euros. The unhappy finalist will receive 18.5 million euros, when the winner will pocket 25 million euros.

In total, PSG will thus be deprived of a potential premium of 52.5 million euros in the event of a road trip against the English. A sum that does not take into account the market pool, a figure based on the value of the television market of each club in the running, neither the historic coefficient, nor the bonus of 4 million euros paid to the team which will compete in the UEFA Super Cup.
