Wednesday evening, the eighth final first leg of the Champions League between Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool was broadcast by Canal+. Unsurprisingly, this prestigious poster allowed the encrypted channel to beat its audience record of the season.

The meeting was followed by 2.31 million viewers. This represents 12.6% of the public in the television and 13.1% of women responsible for purchases under the age of 50 according to Médiamétrie. A peak was even recorded at the end of the first period, with 2.6 million enthusiasts who were able to attend the “English robbery”.

Canal+ on the podium of audiences

Canal+ is thus in third position of the audiences for Wednesday evening. It is France 2 which came out in the lead, with the first two episodes of its new mini-series, called “The Intruse”. The first episode attracted 2.85 million curious people, while the second gathered 2.32 million. TF1 arrives in second place with its series “Elsbeth”, which intrigued 2.43 million people on average.

Next Tuesday, Canal+ will broadcast the eighth final return from the Champions League between the Reds and the club of the capital. It would hardly be surprising that a new audience record be broken on this occasion, since the suspense for quarter qualification remains.
