Nicolas Anelka defends the club's assessment by Sous Pavillon Qatari and its positive impact on the French football landscape.

Paris Saint-Germain has reigned without sharing on Ligue 1. Since the arrival of QSI (Qatar Sports Investments) at the head of the club in 2011, the Red and Blue left only few opportunities for their rivals to win the French championship. A domination pointed out by certain French football players, such as John Textor, the president of Olympique Lyonnais.

However, for others, like Nicolas Anelka, the club has no reason to repent of its position. The former Parisian notably recalled that, in the past, other clubs in France have also had control over the elite of French football. Especially since the successes of PSG play a major role in the international influence of Ligue 1

“Since Qatar is there, it's another dimension”

“There are a lot of questions, on what is criticized for Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and PSG. Like what Nak is too powerful. This is normal, it is the president of the club number 1 in France. With the biggest budget, which is reigning champion. So it's normal for him to be powerful. This was the case at the time with (Jean-Michel) Aulas and (Bernard) Tapie. But in my opinion it was not criticized for them. It is also very dangerous to do this because if Qatar decides to leave, it would be very bad for the French championship which is already in difficulty. It's up to them to ask themselves the question. Why so much relentlessness on Qatar and Al-Khelaïfi, because it is not the solution ”estimated the former French international.

Anelka did not fail to recall how the club of the capital, under the leadership of the Qataris, has changed drastically to afford to tu the cream of world football:
“It is an exceptional assessment. We no longer count the Ligue 1, French Cup trophies. They have had the championship since their arrival. Today, they are looking for this European title to be at the top. But since Qatar has been there, it's another dimension. We saw it with the players who came. Before PSG was in trouble, since the Qataris are there, it is one of the best European clubs. It is really a very positive assessment. (…) I think PSG is a great investment for them. »»
