The Spanish international is an essential holder in the Hansi Flick team, the Catalans being still in the race to potentially win four titles in 2025.
Flick won his first trophy as FC Barcelona coach in January, when Lamine Yamal scored the first goal during the 5-2 victory in Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia.
Barcelona is currently at the top of the Liga, in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, and should face Benfica in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League in March. The 17 -year -old continued his momentum of the breakthrough season with five goals and 11 assists in La Liga.
Impressive Lamine Yamal
He is currently largely at the top of the classification of the Liga assists, with his closest Rival Raphinha culminating in seven. His last assist took place during the 2-0 victory of FC Barcelona in Las Palmas, which allows The Flick team to stay right in front of Real Madrid at the top of the ranking.
The teenager seems to be well placed to be crowned king of the Liga assists at the end of the campaign, but his goal also aims to dominate the main European national championships, with only Mohamed Salah before him. Salah was sensational in the race for the title of the Premier League of Liverpool with 25 goals scored and 16 assists in the championship provided by the Egyptian.
The other main challengers – on the basis of the only championship actions – also come from the Premier League. Mikkel Damsgaard de Brentford is 10, alongside the defender of Fulham Antonee Robinson and the Arsenal striker Bukayo Saka – the latter currently being on the sidelines due to an injury.
Lamin Yamal also has another possible advantage, Liverpool having only 11 championship games to play this season, and Barcelona has 13 on her program.
