In numerical superiority during almost all of the match, Rennes did not do better than a very small victory Friday evening against Reims (1-0, 23rd day of Ligue 1).

The important thing is the three points. This cliché can apply at Stade Rennais this Friday evening. Winner of the Stade de Reims on the smallest of margins (1-0, 23rd day), the Breton club will be satisfied with the accounting gain of this success. But in the end, the Rennais will certainly regret having failed to take advantage of very favorable conditions, with in particular a numerical superiority acquired from the fifth minute of play with the expulsion of Cédric Kipre on the Rémois side.

Author of a nasty sole on the thigh of Jordan James, the defender therefore sealed his team from the start. And Stade Rennais finally did not have to take advantage of it with the opening of Arnaud Kalimuendo's score five minutes later (1-0, 10th). Until the end of the meeting, domination will be exclusively Breton. An incalculable number of attempts (26), but a lack of precision crying with only five shots on a frame.

Reims finished

At the final whistle, the public demanding of the Roazhon Park sparked a real bronca against his players despite the success. The supporters were waiting for more goals, especially since their team even played a few minutes in eleven-our-nine following a second expulsion on the Rémois side, in this case that of Hafiz Ibrahim, entry in the 73rd minute before being Warned for the first time (79th), then a second (89th).

The Rennais nevertheless signed this evening a third success in four games under the orders of Habib Beye and still celebrated it with the Kop Rennais, much less critical than the rest of the public. In the provisional classification, Rennes dates back to the eleventh row. Reims flows again and again with a twelfth rank of rank without success in Ligue 1 and remains fourteenth.
