Real hurts City

For a few minutes, we told ourselves that everything was going to be played in Madrid in a week. But ultimately, Real confirmed that he could always be evil in the Champions League, going to win in extremis on the lawn of a Manchester City team still in bad shape (2-3).

It is quite deserved in view of the physiognomy of this meeting, but the match could have turned in another way. While Real had spoiled several opportunities, including a huge for Ferland Mendy (12th), it was Manchester City who had opened the scoring by Erling Haaland, at the conclusion of a movement built by Jack Grenish (the surprise of the eleven of Pep Guardiola) and Josko Gvardiol (1-0, 19th).

City's defense still cracks

Dominator, Real was rewarded for his efforts with a very lucky goal, a cover of the Tibia of Kylian Mbappé on an opening by Dani Ceballos (1-1, 60th). And the men of Carlo Ancelotti did not panic when Man City resumed the advantage, after a clumsy load of Ceballos on Phil Foden who offered Haaland the penalty of the double (2-1, 80th).

It must be said that with this City team, this season, it can crack at any time. Real has returned, taking advantage of a missed recovery from Ederson, with a goal from Brahim Diaz (2-2, 86th). And in additional time, on an action where Kovacic, Lewis and Ederson are not yet very clear, it was Jude Bellingham who gave the victory to Real (2-3, 90th+2).

Real therefore takes a small option before the return match in a week in Santiago-Bernabeu. And given the defensive generosity displayed by Man City, the Merengues can approach this match with some confidence.
