The relationship between Kylian Mbappé and the FFF has never been a long, quiet river. In 2022, then under the presidency of Christmas Le Graët, the Blues striker had already expressed his disagreement on the management of image rights in selection, refusing to represent certain sponsors who did not share his values. This time, a new episode comes to shake the FFF, suggesting that another showdown is underway between the captain of the French team and the leading body of French football.
An explosive litigation between PSG and Mbappé
But behind this impression of direct conflict, reality is more complex. This time, the FFF is not opposed to Mbappé head -on, but is taken between two lights. According to the team, the Real Madrid player still claims 55.4 million euros from Paris Saint-Germain, his former club, for unpaid bonuses and wages. Two decisions of the LFP also agreed to the attacker, but PSG, refusing to pay, brought the case before the Paris court.

Seeking to enforce the decisions rendered in his favor, Mbappé has seized the disciplinary committee of the FFF, hoping that the body sanctions the Parisian club. FFF in an uncomfortable dead end
Kylian Mbappé's lawyer Delphine Verheyden recently revived the FFF, denouncing a lack of responsiveness in the processing of the file. According to her, the Federation is an accomplice of a dilatory strategy implemented by PSG to delay the payment of the sums due. However, so far, no hearing date has been set, plunging the case into a dead end that embarrasses the FFF.
The position of the federation is delicate. Taking position in favor of Mbappé would risk stirring the anger of PSG, a club influential in French football. Conversely, remaining silent for too long could give the image of a passive institution, unable to enforce the decisions of the national authorities.

While the standoff continues, the FFF is trying to save time, undoubtedly hoping that the Judicial Court of Paris decides before it herself should be officially expressed. But whatever the case, the Mbappé-Psg affair does not seem to find a fast outcome, and the FFF, in spite of itself, is once again at the heart of a storm that could leave traces.
