The new formula of the Champions League reserves future twists and turns.

The regular phase is coming to an end and the verdict fell. This Wednesday evening, all the European clubs committed in
Champions League were in the running for the eighth and last day of this league phase, with all the matches played simultaneously.

If some cadors like Liverpool or Inter Milan are directly qualified for the knockout stages of the competition by having finished in the Top 8, other major clubs will have to go through the barrage box. For Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City or Real Madrid, the major objective of this beginning of the year will be to join all these beautiful people in eighth.

What is the date of the dams?

The drawing of the play posters will take place this Friday, January 31 at 12:00 p.m. Friday. The committed clubs will know their future opponent for these round of 16, which will take place in a classic round-trip format.

The first leg will be scheduled on February 11 or 12, while the return will take place the following week. A deadline which will therefore arrive very quickly for our French representatives.

What is the date of the knockout stages?

Once this round has passed, European clubs will be able to focus on the round of 16, where they will join the teams already qualified via their results during this league phase. These stables that have finished in the top 8 will have an advantage: receive back.

The knockout stages of this edition of the Champions League will take place on March 4 and 5, 2025, while the second rounds will also take place a week later, March 11 and 12. A much shorter period of time than during the previous formula, at the stage of the eighth.
