Neymar is a free player. As expected for several days now, the Brazilian playmaker heard with his Al-Hilal club to terminate the contract that has brought them since his signature in Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023.

The Saudi club announced on Monday evening that “The club and Neymar are suitable for putting an end to the contractual relationship by mutual agreement”. The termination of this contract, which ended next June, now opens the door to its return to Santos, his training club, with which Neymar hopes to relaunch his career.

Neymar will only have played seven matches with al-Hilal

Arrived in Saudi Arabia in August 2023 for some 90 million euros, Neymar will have experienced a long ordeal in the Gulf. As a result of the serious left knee injury, of which he was the victim only a few weeks after his signature in Al-Hilal. Eloimated from the fields for more than a year, the native of Sao Paulo had returned last fall but had gave himself a tear to the right hamstrings.

In eighteen months in Al-Hilal, Neymar will only have played seven games for a small goal and two assists. The case will have been much more profitable financially since his annual salary was estimated at some 100 million euros with 75 million euros in wages and 25 million additional income.
