Overtaken the day before by Messins who defeated Grenoble (3-0), the Lorientais regained their throne by defeating their visitors from Auvergne (3-2).

After Jacquet opened the score for Clermont (12e), the Bretons turned the tide thanks to Laporte (24e), Kroupi (30e on penalty) and Pagis (59e). Bassouamina (90e+4) having had the last word, in vain…

In the standings, Lorient regains its three lengths lead over Metz and Paris FC, winners earlier in the day over Red Star (4-1).
