Former French international defender, Adil Rami, known for his outspokenness, once again hit the headlines. During a recently released podcast, he made virulent remarks against two of the largest stars in world football: Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
Adil Rami tackles Ronaldo without detour
Adil Rami first discussed the recent declaration by Cristiano Ronaldo saying that the Saudi Pro League was now more competitive than the Spanish Liga. An opinion that obviously did not please the former OM player, who has not chewed his words:
“When Ronaldo says that the Liga is less strong than the Saudi championship, it was clearly that he touched a ticket to say this kind of thing. We are not going to lie. ”
Rami continued by criticizing the current performance of Cristiano Ronaldo, saying that he would have a lot more trouble winning in a championship as demanding as Ligue 1: “If he came to Ligue 1, I am sure he would not score 20 goals per year. This championship is very hard, very athletic. ”
Neymar and Ronaldo will not spend their vacation with Rami.
Neymar also in the viewfinder
Adil Rami did not spare Neymar either, directly attacking the Brazilian for having also praised the merits of the Saudi Pro League. According to Rami, Neymar's words are linked to his own physical decline: “Neymar may have taken between 10 and 15 kilos since his visit to Ligue 1.. I understand that he says that there is stronger, but it is not the truth.”
He did not hesitate to qualify unconditional fans of Neymar as “Sheep”, suggesting that they blindly follow the statements of their idol without discernment.
Declarations that make react
These remarks have already toured social networks, provoking mixed reactions between those who appreciate the franchise of Adil Rami and those who believe that he went too far. Known not to have his tongue in his pocket, Rami is not at his first media shine.
If he wanted to denounce a certain complacency in the speeches of Ronaldo and Neymar, his criticisms are likely to trigger a new passionate debate in the world of football.
