Runner-up to Paris Saint-Germain after a very encouraging first part of the season, theMarseille Olympic don't plan to stop there. The Marseille club has great ambitions this season in Ligue 1, with a less busy schedule than its competitors with the absence of a European Cup.
If many recruits have made their mark since last summer, certain elements could leave more quickly than expected. This is the case of Lilian Brassier. Arriving from Stade Brestois, the versatile defender did not perform as expected.
OM: a defender leaving for Rennes?
As indicated by Foot Mercato, Lilian Brassier could well leave Olympique de Marseille this winter. The former Brest player still benefits from an attractive rating on the transfer market. Stade Rennais would have looked at its profile to strengthen itself.
A transfer from Brassier to Rennes cannot therefore be ruled out, especially since Jorge Sampaoli was also interested in another player in the Marseille squad: Chancel Mbemba. Besides Rennes, Brassier would also be monitored by Nice and several foreign teams, including Villarreal, Wolfsburg and Leicester. After an error against Auxerre two months ago (1-3), the defender was taken in by part of the Marseille public.
