Real Madrid have set the record straight. After a bitter setback against Athletic Bilbao in La Liga at the beginning of December (2-1 defeat), Carlo Ancelotti's men shifted into high gear. As evidenced by their large 5-1 victory against Salzburg during the 7th day of the group stage of the Champions League. A success which is part of an impressive offensive series:
42 goals scored in the last 12 matchesa spectacular average of 3.5 goals per match.

An attack found

The Merengues' offensive awakening coincided with their return from the Spanish Super Cup, where they suffered a heavy defeat in the final against Barça (2-5). Far from letting themselves be defeated, the Madrilenians resumed their march forward with formidable efficiency.

In the Copa del Rey, they crushed Celta Vigo (5-2) after extra time. In La Liga, they outclassed Las Palmas (4-1), probably their best performance of the season. And in the Champions League, they validated their ticket to the round of 16 with a demonstration against Salzburg.

Real and its stars have regained their firepower.

Figures that speak

Since their misstep in Bilbao, the Madrilenians have scored
at least two goals in each of the last 12 matches in all competitionsproving their offensive regularity. In total, these are 42 goals scored over this period, including 26 signed by the Mbappé quartet, Vinicius, Rodrygo and Bellinghamthe spearheads of the Madrid attack.

But Real Madrid also shows remarkable offensive depth: Valverde (4 goals), Güler (3), Endrick, Brahim and Camavinga (2 each) all contributed to this series, demonstrating that danger can come from anywhere.

A well-oiled machine

This offensive renewal is explained by a depth of squad and a variety of tactical solutions. The attacking options offered by Ancelotti allow Real Madrid to pose constant problems for their opponents.

Beyond the statistics, this series of performances reflects a newfound confidence and cohesion which translates onto the field. The Merengues, now second in La Liga and qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, seem more formidable than ever as the decisive phases of the season approach.

The Madrid threat

With such momentum, Real Madrid sends a clear message to its competitors, both in Spain and in Europe. Carlo Ancelotti, who skillfully juggles between managing stars and exploiting young talents, has a team in great shape.

Real is back. And with such an offensive pace, it will take more than good defense to stop the Merengue machine.
