A European shock with a major issue. The new formula of the Champions League led to a fear match between PSG and Manchester City, placed much lower than expected in the classification of the league phase and in search of a barragist position From the 8th and last day. For this, we had to get the best result this Wednesday evening at the Parc des Princes. And PSG was the training that best started the meeting, with more possession, a dry strike from Goué (5th) and a head of João Neves not framed (9th). But Manchester City was also dangerous and Bruyne solicited Donnarumma (13th) of a closed angle shot.

Hakimi was also trying to strike (18th). Haaland answered her head (20th). Two opportunities, of course, but without real danger for each porter, like what the two teams offered until then. Nuno Mendes harvested a yellow card, which will deprive him of the match against Stuttgart in a week. PSG offered its first huge opportunity on corner, after a dangerous strike from Vitinha. Fabian Ruiz could shoot at close range after a scramble but the thigh of Gvardiol, on the line, stopped the ball race (27th). PSG was generally convincing but desperately lacked an offensive spark, while Dembélé was on the bench. Man City in turn had a frank opportunity with a breakthrough from Savinho, on a good Foden service, which fell on a good Donnarumma (39th). PSG thought of opening the scoring after a superb collective sequence but a slight offside of Nuno Mendes forced the referee to cancel Hakimi's goal (45th).

Ten minutes of madness

Upon returning from the locker room, Luis Enrique launched Dembélé in place of Lee, while Pep Guardiola came out Savinho and Nunes for Grenalish and Lewis. And it was Guardiola's coaching that turned out to be effective since Grenish opened the scoring, after a freak in the Parisian surface, following an overflow of Akanji (0-1, 50th). Luck seemed to have chosen his camp, and this was confirmed in the process with the goal of Haaland, almost on the same diagram. Overflow, on the left side this time, from Grenish, withdrawing center, billiards with Neves who involuntarily put back on Haaland, who only had to finish (0-2, 53rd).

Shot the PSG? The revolt finally arrived, with the first real overflow of Barcola on the left side, which opened gaping spaces in the opposing defense and served with full axis. The Frenchman did not lift himself and reduced the brand (1-2, 58th). The match had gone mad and it didn't stop. Gifted, left side, triggered a powerful strike that found the bar. Barcola had the reflex to take over the leather from the left foot, and with the help of the post, equalized (2-2, 60th). Dembélé, author of a shattering entrance, chained a small powerful bridge-frappet which crashed on the transverse bar (70th). After returning from hell, PSG got closer to paradise when João Neves, author of an exceptional performance, arose at the second post to take a free kick from Vitinha (3-2, 78th). Despite one or two frights for Luis Enrique's men, the score was still moving, in favor of PSG. Gonçalo Ramos took advantage of an involuntary discount of Gvardiol to win his duel against Ederson (4-2, 90+2nd). In addition to this important success for the rest of the competition, PSG delivered this Wednesday evening a match full of character and determination, which was still missing in this Champions League campaign. What consider the European future a little more serenely.
