The great family of French football is tearing itself apart. Monday evening, the owner of Olympique Lyonnais, John Textor, gave an explosive interview to Jérôme Rothen on RMC. The American businessman made extremely critical comments about several major football centers.

The president of Paris Saint-Germain Nasser Al-Khelaïfi took it for granted, as did the president of the Professional Football League Vincent Labrune or the National Management Control Department (DNCG), accused of not being independent.

“My big worry is that OM is waking up”

This intervention by John Textor was applauded by Daniel Riolo. The RMC journalist believes that the diagnosis made by the American is correct, but he expects the same approach from another club owned by an American businessman: theMarseille Olympic.

Riolo pointed out OM’s lack of influence.
“What I hope, the only thing I want to fight for, is that other presidents speak. And in particular that OM wakes up. My big worry is that OM wakes up. Because only OM can make our football move. I want president Pablo Longoria to move, to talk to owner Frank McCourt, who is way too far away. That’s the only thing, otherwise our football will not be saved if OM remains inactive. OM supporters must move. They did it when it concerns their club, they must do it if they want our entire Ligue 1 to be saved. OM is an important part of our L1.”
