Alphonso Davies is a long-term target, although there is a good chance he will renew with Bayern Munich, ending any chance of him joining the Santiago Bernabeu. Alternatives are therefore being considered.
Miguel Gutierrez has been mooted, while CaughtOffside claims Real Madrid are also interested in Paris Saint-Germain and Portugal defender Nuno Mendes.
Mendes targeted in Madrid
The 22-year-old fits perfectly into the club’s transfer policy, although a deal could be difficult to achieve as Manchester United are said to be pushing for a deal.
If Real Madrid fail to sign Davies, it will be important to sign the right player in his place. Mendes would be a good option, but given that Gutierrez can be brought back from Girona for just €8m, he would surely be the better option.
