Author of seven goals in La Liga, four in the Champions League and one in the Copa del Rey, Antoine Griezmann thought he had scored for the 13th time of the season in the 8th minute of Atlético’s match against Osasuna, Sunday after noon, for the 19th day of La Liga.
“Grizi” sent the ball to the back of the opposing net by cutting a cross from Nahuel Molina at the near post. The former French international’s goal, however, was invalidated by the referee of the match for a hand fault, since Griezmann caught the ball with his arm, as the video referee quickly noticed when viewing the images.
Griezmann, Le Normand and Lenglet starters
Griezmann partners Julian Alvarez up front in Diego Simeone’s 4-4-2, with Giuliano Simeone, Rodrigo De Paul, Pablo Barrios and Conor Gallagher in midfield. Robin Le Normand and Clément Lenglet form an almost 100% French central hinge, José Maria Gimenez being withdrawn.
The “Cholo” team must win against the Pamplois to regain the lead in the standings with one point more than Real Madrid. The two teams will have played the same number of matches this Sunday, with the Merengues playing the final of the Spanish Super Cup against Barça this Sunday evening in Saudi Arabia (8 p.m., live on L’Equipe live football).
