The AC Milan striker has expressed his ambition to become the best player in the world.

Rafael Leao once again proved last Monday that he is one of the greatest talents in European football today. During the Italian Super Cup final against Inter Milan, the AC Milan left winger offered a masterful assist to Tammy Abraham, scorer of the decisive goal in the 3-2 victory.

Often criticized for his irregularity, the Portuguese international wanted to respond to these criticisms in an interview given to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The former Lille player said he was sparing no effort to gain consistency.

Leao sets its objectives

“We can’t always play at our best level: there are also ordinary matches, during which we can’t do much. In recent years, I have noticed that football has changed, that goals and assists have become more important than performances. I’m trying to become stronger in front of goal to contribute more and be at the level of the best players”explained Leao.

Like many players of his generation, the native of Almada harbors the ultimate dream, winning the Ballon d’Or, but also the greatest European trophy. “I dream of it, but the most important thing for me is to win a big trophy with my team. The Ballon d’Or is only a consequence of your results at club. My primary ambition is to win the Champions League, and for that, I will have to make a difference in each meeting. I must be important for Milan”he said before designating Vinicius Jr as the one who deserved this prestigious award in 2024.
