The Merengues feared not being able to count on Godoy, whom they intend to add to Raul Gonzalez’s squad at Real Madrid Castilla.
However, they were not afraid for long as Madrid sports daily Diario AS reported that they were close to securing the signing of the 21-year-old striker.

Real Madrid will pay compensation of around €2 million for Godoy, who only signed for Eldense last summer after leaving Alaves.
He has struggled to establish himself in the Segunda this season, so he will hope to do better by moving down a division for the rest of the campaign, while having the (slim) chance of making an impact on the coach of first team Carlo Ancelotti.
