Millions are about to flow into the coffers of RC Lens. In discussions for several days with Manchester City regarding the possible sale of Abdukodir Khusanov, the northern club has reportedly reached an agreement with its English counterpart. The defender should leave Lens this winter, in exchange for a check for forty million euros.
The news is not official yet, but Sky Sports and several other media from across the Channel are categorical: there has been an agreement between City and Lens. The operation is a big blow for the Lensois accountants. The latter will be able to thank the club recruiters who went to look for Khusanov in the summer of 2023 and who bought him for 100,000 euros. Suffice it to say that the RCL is going to do quite a tumble.
About fifty million
According to RMC this time, around ten million euros should be added to the initial forty, for a total of fifty. The Ousbek defender is more than ever on the move, a year and a half after his arrival, since he was not present at the last collective training. Another sign of his imminent flight to the Premier League.
New adventure for Abdukodir Khusanov and new sale for RC Lens which parted ways with a second manager in just a few days, after the departure of Brice Samba for Stade Rennais. It remains to be seen whether the absence of the Uzbek for the future will have a negative impact on the northern defense.
