Four and a half years after leaving Arsenal for FC Barcelona, Thierry Henry made his comeback to the Emirates Stadium at the start of the 2019 winter transfer window. At the time under contract with the New York Red Bulls, the French striker was loaned to the Gunners for two months during the break in the United States.

And on January 9, 2012, thirteen years to the day, the second top scorer in the history of the Blues played the hero during the 3rd round of the FA Cup against Leeds United. Entering the pitch to the ovation of the Emirates Stadium, shortly after the hour mark in place of Marouane Chamakh, Thierry Henry scored the only one of the match in added time, thereby qualifying Arsenal for the round following. As a symbol, it was with a curl of the right foot that the legend of the London club shook the nets.
A few days later, the former Barcelona player did it again with another saving goal in added time to allow Arsenal to win against Sunderland in the Premier League (2-1). A comeback which, however, ended with a scathing defeat for the Gunners against AC Milan in the Champions League (4-0), on February 15, 2012.
