We’ll have to wait a little longer to see
Didier Deschamps pronounce the name of Zinédine Zidane. While the current coach of the France team announced that he would leave his position at the end of his mandate, in 2026, questions about his potential successor have inevitably returned.

The appointment of Zinédine Zidane appears obvious to many observers. For his aura, his competence, his current situation (free of any commitment), the former Ballon d’Or naturally emerges as the big favorite for the position.

Deschamps speaks out about his successor…

Called to discuss his potential successor, Didier Deschamps nevertheless refused to mention the name of his former teammate with the Blues. An element of communication which is not new for the coach.

“Not easy to replace me? Ah, that, I don’t know. No one is irreplaceable…, Deschamps said.. I made sure to be as indispensable as possible, with the results that you know. But that’s all behind us. The most important thing is what is ahead and the new deadlines“, concluded Deschamps as part of a charity rally for Operation Yellow Pieces.
