This is the issue that has strained FC Barcelona since the start of 2025. Arriving this summer from RB Leipzig and Girona, Dani Olmo (26 years old) and Pau Victor (23 years old) could not be registered by the Blaugrana club for the second part of the season. A decision confirmed by La Liga and the Spanish Federation (RFEF) following non-compliance with the rules of financial fair play put in place by the Spanish championship.

Already in a similar situation at the start of the season, the two players were able to count on the serious injury of Danish defender Andreas Christensen – who was provisionally removed from the La Liga list – to be registered. The former Chelsea player being back for the second part of the season and FC Barcelona not having been able to convince financially, the imbroglio therefore resumed. Seeking a solution at all costs, FC Barcelona must achieve it, especially in the case of Dani Olmo. Arriving this summer for 55 million euros from RB Leipzig, he can leave the club freely if he is not registered thanks to a clause in his contract.

In a press release the CSD explained its position: “it is provisional in nature until the appeal is definitively resolved.»

The CSD noted the possible concomitance of a cause of nullity as of right and the existence of immediate and difficult to repair damage, which would affect the rights recognized in the current Sports Law to footballers Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor and their safety. legal. The CSD considers that the non-adoption of this precautionary measure would cause serious economic and sporting damage to the club and, above all, to the footballers. It could also harm the interests of the Spanish team, as well as the rest of the domestic competitions, including La Liga“, we can read there.
