Will Brice Samba wear the jersey of Stade Rennais in the coming weeks? It’s a question that keeps many supporters in suspense, on the Rennes side of course, but also in Lens, where the French international goalkeeper is still under contract.
The soap opera took on unexpected proportions at the end of last week. While Bice Samba had agreed with the Breton club for the terms of his future contract, RMC Sport indicated that the Racing Club de Lens had closed the door to its goalkeeper, the Artesian club not having appreciated “the communication of Stade Rennais”.
Samba in Rennes, a question of time
In this fool’s game, Lens takes a posture which does not signal the end of the soap opera. While suggesting that it would be ready to relegate Samba to the bench for the entire second part of the season, the Artesian club above all raised the tone in the negotiations. A position which should not prevent the transfer from being completed.
This is also the sense of communication of Pierre Dréossi, the general director of RC Lens. “The negotiations have not stopped but are a little tense and, for the moment, we are still in negotiations, said the leader on Sunday, on DAZN. If they end in the coming days, he will leave, and if they do not end, he will not leave. These are long negotiations, they have been going on for around ten days but, for the moment, there is no agreement.”
In the meantime, RC Lens would have made good progress on the arrival of Pau Lopez… Despite the pressure put on by the Sang et Or, everything suggests that Brice Samba will be well in Rennes in the days to come.
