DAZN no longer knows what to do to finally expand its subscriber base. Singled out for its prohibitive prices at the start of the season, the British platform continues to slash prices. To the point of offering the second half of the season for only 69 euros, or a monthly rate of less than ten euros.

But DAZN has also decided to resurrect an emblematic program from the championship days: the Multiplex. He will make his big return next weekend, on Sunday at 5:15 p.m., with two matches for the next two days, then three. And if it had a great time on Canal+, thanks in particular to a jingle that has become iconic, the Multiplex was launched in 1984 on TF1.

The championship on TF1 for three years

As recalled The Teambarely more than a month before the live broadcast on Canal+ of the first match of the French championship, the headlines had in fact launched Multifoot thanks to the contract signed with the League. This provided, for ten days per season, a new program, presented by Thierry Roland and Didier Roustan, to follow live the last half hour of four matches in the first division.

The presenter was accompanied every Saturday by a guest, like Julien Clerc present for the big premiere of the show on September 28, 1984. The experience lasted three years before Canal+, during the renegotiation of TV rights, does not regain exclusivity for live meetings, the first channel having to be content with images for Téléfoot, its Sunday program.
