Layvin Kurzawa, former left back of PSG, is going through a very complicated period. Without a club since the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain last June, the 32-year-old is starting to sound the alarm. According to recent statements, Kurzawa says today “ready for anything” to find a club and revive a stalled career.

The former French international had difficult years in the Parisian jersey. Placarded for long seasons, Kurzawa refused to leave PSG despite the numerous departure opportunities offered by the club. Preferring to stay to earn his salary without playing, he had become one of the least sought after but best paid professional footballers in France. A situation which today seems to be turning against him, as he struggles to convince a club to give him another chance.

Kurzawa on the verge of despair

Without competition for several months, Kurzawa even rejected a proposal from PSV Eindhoven last September. A choice that could well cost him dearly while the winter market is in full swing. For a player who has worn the French team jersey 13 times, this descent into hell is a sad contrast with his promising debut at AS Monaco.

Kurzawa’s cry for help.

Kurzawa is not the only former PSG player to experience a delicate situation. His former teammate, Serge Aurier, has also been without a club since last summer after his departure from Galatasaray. At 32, Aurier is looking for one last challenge in Europe, and a return to Ligue 1 could be a solution to relaunch his career.

A reputation difficult to overcome

If Kurzawa still hopes to relaunch himself, his Parisian past continues to weigh on his reputation. His lack of regularity, added to his choice to favor financial security to the detriment of playing time, leaves doubts about his ability to establish himself in a new project.

For the moment, the person concerned remains awaiting an appeal. With any luck, the winter transfer window could offer him one last opportunity to save a career that seems to be fading.
