Continuation of the 19th day of Serie A this Sunday evening with a formidable golden poster, a classic of Italian football. Lazio “traveled” to Lazio to face its great rival AS Roma, on the pitch of the Olimpico Stadium in the colors of the local giallorossi for the occasion. As for the Biancocelesti, the objective of this derby della Capitale was to stock up on points to get closer to the podium and thus solidify their position in the race for Europe. The Giallorossi wanted to score valuable points to move away from the soft underbelly and move back into the first part of the table. The match started with flying colors for Claudio Ranieri’s players with a magnificent masterpiece by Lorenzo Pellegrini to open the scoring (10th) on a pass from Alexis Saelemaekers.

Entering the area, the Italian attacking midfielder was able to delay and curl a powerful shot into the top corner. The passer then became a scorer since the Belgian doubled the lead (18th) to already seal the victory (2-0). The second period was marked by several scuffles as usual in Roman games, particularly in the final moments. Valentín Castellanos was also sent off (90th+5). 9 yellow cards were distributed. In the standings, Lazio remains in a good position in 4th place despite the defeat, while Roma climbs to 10th position. Next weekend, the Laziai will challenge promoted Como at home, while the Giallorossi will play against Bologna in Emilia-Romagna, during the 20th day of the Italian championship.
