The year 2025 is already starting under bad auspices for FC Barcelona. Still stuck in its financial difficulties, the Catalan club is faced with the impossibility of validating the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second half of the season.

This Saturday, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) officially rejected the license applications of the two Spanish players, plunging the Spanish vice-champion into embarrassment. A real disillusionment, especially since Barça had invested 55 million euros last summer to afford Dani Olmo. This situation was mentioned by Ronald Araujo, who returned to the field for the first time since his injury in July 2024, during the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey won against Union Deportiva Barbastro (4-0).

“I tried to reassure them”

The Uruguayan central defender and Blaugrana captain did not hide his concern about these administrative complications. True to his role, he strives to support his teammates, affected by this impasse.

“The truth is that yes, we are a little concerned because they are very important players for us. But hey, the club says it will be able to resolve this situation, we hope that will be the case. This is a difficult situation for them. As captain, I tried to reassure them,” he confided to the microphone of
Movistar+.
