Marcus Rashford’s downgrade with Manchester United is surely not the trajectory imagined by the English striker when he started out. Great hope of the Mancunian club, the versatile winger had established himself as one of the best players in England after a few months and had become one of the faces of the Red Devils who alternated between the good and the less good sportingly . Still present at the club at the start of the season despite transfer rumors sending him everywhere in each transfer window, the 27-year-old striker is currently going through the worst period of his career.

Author of a delicate start to the season with the most successful team in England, the Mancunian number 10 nevertheless compiled 7 goals and 3 assists in 24 matches with his training club. A record far from being disastrous but which nevertheless does not allow him to be considered by the new coach Ruben Amorim as a viable option for the future. Sidelined with the Portuguese technician, the Englishman had nevertheless scored three goals in his first four appearances with the former Sporting CP coach. Sidelined during the last four matches, Rashford could be forced to leave this winter so as not to put his career in jeopardy.

Victor Osimhen is in the sights of Manchester United

And the English press is reporting a ludicrous exchange being prepared behind the scenes. Indeed, according to exclusive information from the Sun, Manchester United would like to set up an exchange between Victor Osimhen and Marcus Rashford. While he affirmed that a departure from United would be “without hard feelings”, the Englishman is struggling to find the right fit and recently refused three expensive offers from Saudi Arabia. To facilitate a departure, the English leaders decided to take the bull by the horns by visibly taking the decision to study the feasibility of an exchange with Naples. Eager to find a real goalscorer, the residents of Old Trafford are eyeing Victor Osimhen.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray, the Nigerian striker is more than convincing with 12 goals and 5 assists in 15 appearances. Even if Ruben Amorim wanted to attract Viktor Gyokeres, a tacit agreement between the Portuguese coach and Sporting CP prevents him from recruiting his former players until next summer. Therefore, the Osimhen alternative seems credible, especially since the Sun explains that Antonio Conte would like to lure Rashford to Napoli. A situation which would not do the business of Galatasaray, which would therefore lose its goleador because of an exchange which would rather suit United and Naples. Eager to get back on track in order to stay in Thomas Tuchel’s sights with the England team, Marcus Rashford could be interested in arriving in Campania this winter.
