Portugal will celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo with a special collector’s coin, according to an announcement from Banco de Portugal. Produced in only 25,000 copies, this coin bears the portrait of the Portuguese legend and has a nominal value of 7 euros, in reference to its legendary number “CR7”.
It will be sold at a price of 7.50 euros via the central bank. This new tribute adds to the numerous distinctions already received by Ronaldo, who remains a national icon.
A collectible item promised to fetch a fortune?
According to expert Dan Barrett, cited by Sportunethe value of this piece could reach up to 144,000 euros thanks to its rarity and the immense popularity of Ronaldo. For comparison, a 2 euro coin bearing the image of Grace Kelly, produced in 20,000 copies, now sells for more than 3,000 euros.
