He’s back! Having left Lens in the summer of 2023 to join Al-Nassr and Saudi Arabia, Seko Fofana is returning to France, in the ranks of Stade Rennais. After having completed his traditional medical examination in Paris these days, the person concerned officially signed up this Thursday 1er January.

In an original video against the backdrop of the festivities for the new year, the Breton club presents its new recruit, clearly specifying the duration of the commitment of the 29-year-old Ivorian international, until June 2029, i.e. four and a half years.

Brice Samba still expected

Loaned this season to Al-Ettifaq, Seko Fofana did not experience the expected Saudi influence, used in a much less offensive register. He nonetheless remains a valuable reinforcement for Rennes, if only because of his versatility and his impact in midfield.

If the official amount of the transfer has not been filtered, the compensation granted to Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club, seems to be between 20 and 23 million euros. Under the leadership of Jorge Sampaoli, the new coach of the Rouges et Noirs, Sang et Or goalkeeper Brice Samba also remains on the approach. To find his former teammate Seko Fofana.
