FC Barcelona is in full administrative chaos surrounding the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor in La Liga. While the deadline for their registration expired on December 31 at midnight, the situation remains unclear and could lead to their contractual release.

An unprecedented administrative imbroglio

LaLiga confirmed that Barça had not offered any compliant financial alternative to validate the registration of the two players. At midnight, the official La Liga website had already removed their names from the squad. This could mean that Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor are technically free from any contract, although the club has filed an appeal with the Spanish Federation (RFEF).

Barça still hopes to obtain the green light by January 3 by finalizing the sale of the VIP boxes at the future Spotify Camp Nou. However, LaLiga sticks to its position: without respect for economic rules, no registration will be accepted.

Player support and teammate reactions

Despite this crisis, Dani Olmo showed his support for Barça by posting a photo of his New Year’s Eve on Instagram with blue and red hearts. His teammate Lamine Yamal commented optimistically: “Dani Olmo is ass! »while Andreas Christensen, whose return from injury complicated the situation, is now on the LaLiga list.

Financial and sporting issues

If the situation is not resolved, Barça will not only have to release the two players, but also pay their salaries until the end of their contracts, i.e. 2030 for Olmo. This would represent a considerable economic loss, in addition to a hard blow for the Catalan workforce.
