While Barcelona are furiously trying to put their books in order to sign Dani Olmo and Pau Victor before the end of the year, that hasn’t stopped sporting director Deco from going about his business. Barça’s first recruit in 2025 should be Jonathan Tah.
Tah will show up
According to Relevo, Bayern Munich have abandoned all hopes of signing the Bayer Leverkusen defender. The 28-year-old is
“on the verge” to sign for Barcelona, and they will try to validate the deal in the first days of January. With his current contract expiring this summer, Barcelona can sign him in just a few hours.
The arrival of Tah should herald the departure of other Barcelona defenders. Eric Garcia’s days at the club appear numbered, while Andreas Christensen is also expected to be put up for sale this summer if Tah arrives. The other moving element is Ronald Araujo: if Barcelona cannot agree on a new contract with the Uruguayan, then their plans with Christensen could change. If Tah does indeed sign, he will be available to Hansi Flick alongside Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi next summer.
