Despite a new start under the colors of Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé continues to send barbs to his former club, PSG. In a recent video filmed within the Madrid premises, the French striker commented on a photo marking Real’s victory in the 2022 Champions League. He then declared: “2022? I didn’t like it too much this year, because I played at PSG and I faced (Madrid),” a sentence which is sure to reignite tensions between him and his former club.
Mbappé still in conflict with PSG
This statement comes in an already stormy context between Mbappé and PSG. Still in dispute with the Parisian club over the payment of several salaries and bonuses, the player remains at odds with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. If the Professional Football League ruled in favor of payment, PSG refuses to comply, fueling a conflict which drags on. During a recent interview on the show Clique, Mbappé also made mixed comments, showing little gratitude towards the club and its management, although he greeted the supporters and his former teammates.

Since his arrival in Madrid, however, number 7 seems to have fully blossomed. His performances allowed him to win the title of La Liga player of the month for December. In the video, Mbappé also reaffirmed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he considers his idol. He also looked back on his debut in the Madrid jersey, marked by a victory in the European Super Cup against Atalanta Bergamo, which he describes as
“the best possible start”.

This remark on the year 2022 and his move to PSG risks getting people talking in the coming days, particularly in Paris. While relations with the president of PSG are at their lowest, Mbappé does not seem to be concerned about the impact of his statements. Totally focused on his goals in Madrid, he is taking full advantage of his new life far from the tensions of the French capital.
