In recent years, Chelsea have become one of the main players in the transfer window. Since the departure of Roman Abramovich, the Blues have already spent more than a billion euros on the market. Since then, the London club has remained on the lookout for opportunities, like the one leading to Randal Kolo Muani. But it must be said that the 2021 European champions are mainly looking to downsize the mammoth.

THE Mirror and the BBC also claim that Chelsea have put five new players on the transfer list. The first of them is left back Ben Chilweel. The 28-year-old Englishman joined the Blues in 2020 in exchange for €50m. Unfortunately for him, injuries often played nasty tricks on him and Chilwell only played 107 matches in 4 and a half years at Stamford Bridge. Which makes less than 25 matches per season.

Degreasing continues

Once cited at Manchester United, Chilwell remains a difficult element to dislodge. He is still under contract until 2027 and receives a comfortable salary of €241,000 per week, or around €12.5 million per year. Recruited in 2022, Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei (21 years old) is also pushed towards the exit. Bought for around €15 million from Inter, the Transalpine is under contract until 2028 and Chelsea are further considering a loan. Feyenoord and Monza are said to be interested. Six months before the end of his contract, young striker Harvey Vale (21 years old) will be sold. Chelsea want to try to recover some money and Championship clubs are said to be on board.

He still has a year and a half left on his contract, but midfielder Alex Matos (20 years old) is in the same situation as Vale. He is one of the young people the Blues want to part with. Finally, if a club wishes to secure the services of English midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka (21 years old), it will have to pay the player’s release clause set at 40 million pounds (around €48 million). A prohibitive price for a young person under contract until 2028, who arrived in 2022 from Aston Villa (€18 million) and who has only played five matches this season with the Blues.
