In full rise in the LOSC jersey, Lucas Chevalier has had an excellent start to the year with the Mastiffs. Often decisive in the Lille goal, the French goalkeeper can also count on a team which brings together some of the best players in Ligue 1, notably Jonathan David.
The Canadian striker (17 goals and 5 assists in 16 appearances this season) not only inspires his teammates, including the 23-year-old goalkeeper, with his sense of goal, but also with his attitude and his capacity for resilience. On the airwaves ofEurope 1the young French international did not hesitate to praise the Canucks star.
David, the quiet strength
“He is the subject of criticism, he is always questioned but in the end, when you add up, he is still there. He’s the one who does it on the pitch and is always there. The guy, you have the impression that nothing can pierce him »explained Chevalier.
Even during bad times, Jonathan David does not let himself be caught up in media pressure. “It has already happened that he has down periods during a season, periods during which he scores a little less. Everyone is on him, all the press are targeting him, but he is calm in the locker room, as if nothing had happened. It continues to work and then hop, tripled, the machine is restarted”said the Calaisian.
