Manchester United have reportedly submitted a bid for Paris Saint-Germain star Nuno Mendes, with the full-back looking to leave the French giants.

Manchester United seriously need to sign a left-back or full-back for Ruben Amorim, as the Red Devils only have the services of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia this season. With the former rarely fit and the latter disappointing since his return to action following his injury, the Red Devils are keen to bring in a left-back, with Mendes seen as a potential option.

Manchester United have now made an offer to Paris Saint-Germain for Mendes, as they want to sign their top target for the January transfer window, according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. The report suggests that the Portugal international is interested in the possibility of a move to Old Trafford as he is not happy at the Parc des Princes.

Mendes interested

Mendes’ contract at PSG runs until 2026 and the French giants are looking to extend the left-back’s contract. However, the 22-year-old is unhappy with the salary he was offered by the Ligue 1 champions and felt slighted. Therefore, Mendes is very keen to leave the club in January or in the summer of 2025.

Hawkins’ report did not mention a potential transfer fee, but the full-back is unlikely to come cheap. With Manchester United’s financial difficulties after the summer, we will have to see if the Red Devils can really go through with the transfer.
