New destination for Pavard

While waiting to resume training and competition with Inter, Benjamin Pavard treated himself to a superb trip to Kosovo with Kleofina Pnishi, his future wife. Last July, the French international 2018 world champion announced his engagement to his girlfriend, a Miss Provence 2017 well known to TV viewers. For Christmas, Pavard went to the town where his fiancée was born, in Gjakovë. Let’s take a moment to enjoy the magic of childhood, pure joy and memories with the people we love”wrote the defender in English in a publication on Instagram.

As a reminder, Kosovo, a territory considered an autonomous province by Serbia, declared its independence in 2008 but is not recognized by the UN or the European Union. Since 2016, on the other hand, Kosovo has had its national team with Fifa (and the IOC) and has just participated in its third edition of the Nations League. The Kosovars led by Lille winger Edon Zhegrova will compete in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the group of Switzerland, Sweden and Slovenia.

Pavard suffered a torn left hamstring (the muscles at the back of the thigh) and missed the Nerazzurri’s final five matches of the year. The former Bayern player is out of the Serie A meeting of the Italian champions in Cagliari this Saturday (6 p.m.) and will resume at the start of 2025. To see if he will have returned to the starting eleven for the last two matches of the first phase of the Champions League against Sparta Prague and Monaco. He will play for his place in the French team in the coming months.
