Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has once again claimed that the Saudi Pro League is of higher quality than Ligue 1, a league he described as “finished”.

Ronaldo was in attendance at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Friday evening and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner gave his thoughts on a number of topics ranging from the Ballon d’Or ”
unfair » to the assertion that he could improve Manchester United’s situation if he became the owner of the Red Devils. However, his most scandalous statement came when he spoke about the quality of the Saudi Pro League and said that Ligue 1 was worse than the Saudi Premier League.

Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo said:
“The Saudi Pro League is of course better than Ligue 1. I’m not saying that because I play here. I don’t care what people think about it. The players should come here and they will see quickly. Just try doing sprints at 38, 39, 40 degrees…

“Come and see.” If you don’t believe me, come on. In France, they only have PSG, all the others are finished. Nobody can beat them because they have the most money and the best players.” This should please supporters of OM and other leading clubs in France…

This is not the first time that Ronaldo has attacked the quality of Ligue 1, as he had already done so in January when he spoke about his failure to lead Al-Nassr to the league title. Saudi Pro League, saying the SPL had more competition than the French top division.

Cr7 persists and signs

He said: “ To be honest, I think the Saudi championship is not worse than the French championship, in my opinion. In the French championship, I think there are two or three good level teams. In Saudi Arabia now I think it’s more competitive.

“They can say whatever they want, it’s just my opinion and I played there one year so I know what I’m talking about. But I think that at the moment we are better than the French championship, we continue to improve.
