Bo Svensson is no longer the coach of Union Berlin, the club announced this Friday. “ We are convinced that change is necessary to reverse the trend. We have decided not to continue the collaboration with Bo Svensson and his staff, thank them for what they have done so far for the team and wish them good luck for the future », declared Horst Heldt, managing director of the German training.

Despite a 12th place in the Bundesliga and seven points ahead of the relegation zone, Svensson suffered a series of eight matches without a win in the Championship (3 draws, 5 defeats) and an elimination in the German Cup against Bielefeld, a club third division. Already dismissed by FC Liefering in 2021 and Mainz in 2023, he suffered a new setback. The club has already planned to appoint a replacement before January 2, 2025.
