This is the news of the day in Spain. The Commercial Court rejected Barça’s request to grant precautionary measures to guarantee the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor with La Liga in the second half of the season. A decision which should lead FC Barcelona to review its copy, even if the Catalan club intends to exhaust all possible remedies before the courts. In the afternoon, La Liga reacted to the verdict, and took note of it.

LALIGA learned today of the judgment of the Commercial Court number 10 of Barcelona which rejects the provisional registration of Dani Olmo until June 30, 2025, and has made a reasoned interpretation of article 77 of the NEP and has made the same interpretation that she did with all the other teams in the same competition. The same interpretation that was applied in the month of July 2024 to FC Barcelona in the case of Araújo and Iñigo Martínez. Thus, La Liga has established budgetary balance rules implementing the competence conferred on it by law. The purpose of authorizing excessive spending is that a long-term absence does not harm the competitiveness of the team, and not that a long-term absence allows the registration of other players who, via their salaries , exceed the set limit, as was the intention of FC Barcelona. It is for all these reasons that LALIGA is delighted that, faced with the request for precautionary measures of this nature, no exception will be made.»
