The love story is not over between Iago Aspas and Celta de Vigo. At 37 years old and with his contract due to expire next June, the top scorer in the history of the Spanish club (210 goals) has returned for one more season. He is now under contract until 2026.

Trained in Vigo, Aspas left in 2013, after a first prolific stint, to join Liverpool. Loaned in 2014 to Sevilla FC, he notably won the Europa League (2015) before returning to his training club. In total, Aspas took part in 509 games for the club from north-west Spain, making him the most capped player in Celta’s history.
