Rayan Cherki, attacking midfielder for Olympique Lyonnais, is attracting more and more attention from major European clubs. After shining in this first part of the season with 5 goals and 7 assists in 18 matches, the Lyon prodigy is now in Liverpool’s sights, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, transfer window specialist.

Active but cautious monitoring

The Reds regularly send scouts to monitor Cherki’s performance. According to Romano, Liverpool “knows the player very well” and recognizes his great talent, but wishes to observe more regularity in his performances before going on the offensive. Although no concrete negotiations are underway, this interest could intensify over time, especially if Cherki continues its momentum.

However, OL, in search of liquidity, could find themselves forced to sell him this winter if a substantial offer is made. John Textor, president of OL, suggested that the final decision could depend as much on the player as on the financial aspect.
