FC Barcelona is preparing for an eventful winter transfer window after a complicated end to 2024, marked by a defeat against Atlético Madrid (1-2) which relegated Hansi Flick’s players to second place in La Liga.
According to several sources, the Catalan club is considering freeing up funds by parting ways with Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia. The latter, already in contact with Newcastle, could be sold to finalize the registration of Dani Olmo with La Liga in January.
Barça prepares an ambitious renewal
The club also aims to compensate for the departure of these players with defensive reinforcements, notably the probable arrival of Jonathan Tah next summer. Beyond these departures, Barça would have identified several priorities for the transfer window. FCB would thus be looking for an athletic midfielder, two full-backs (one for each side) and a left winger.
Consideration would also be given to finding a successor to Robert Lewandowski, in order to ensure the continuity of the attack. With major competitions to come (King’s Cup, Spanish Super Cup, and the resumption of La Liga against Getafe on January 18), the Blaugrana leaders would like to breathe new impetus into the team to return to the top of the championship.
