Not starting for 4 matches, Ousmane Dembélé made a careful return to the Paris Saint-Germain starting lineup on Sunday, during a gala match at the Parc des Princes against Olympique Lyonnais.

THE 2018 world champion responded in the best possible way by scoring an important goal to allow the capital club to open the scoring and make their task easier (3-1 victory). A goal which sounds like a response to the sometimes harsh choices of Luis Enrique. The Spanish technician has not spared his attacker this season. He had already been without him during the trip to England to face Arsenal in the Champions League, following a delay. And he still chose to leave him out of the eleven several games in a row. But Luis Enrique assures him, there is no personal conflict with his player.

“I want Ousmane to give the best version of himself”

Dembélé, I see him as alwaysunderlined the Spaniard at a press conference. I know him very well, I’ve known him for years. I always defended him as a player. He is a very nice person. And there you have it. From there, I want Ousmane to give the best version of himself. It’s the same with all the other players. When I make a decision with a player, if I consider that it is necessary to act in this way for the player and for the team, I do it.

“I like to be close to the players, to be in continuous contact, but I can’t do it with everyone, continued the PSG coach. But when a player doesn’t really want to see me, I try to respect his space and accept his position. But I like to communicate with my players, so that they have this freedom to tell me what is appropriate. But I know my job, I know what I have to do. My decisions depend on what I see. I always end up saying that I could be wrong, but that I am wrong with my ideas and not those of others.”
